Barry Sopinsky is the Founder, CEO & Executive Director of the Challenge2ConquerALS, Non-Profit. He formed the non-profit in 2009, starting with a 3-day cycling tour in Southwestern, Colorado, called the DEATH RIDE Tour to honor the memory of his Dad, Irvin Sopinsky, who passed away from ALS when Barry was 13 after a 7 year battle.
Barry has a long career of Sales & Marketing Management holding positions as Vice President, Creative Marketing at Behr Paint and Director of Retail Sales for Bona US.

Barry has always been passionate about doing what ever he could to raise funds and awareness to fight the BEAST, ALS. Since the inception of his Non-Profit in 2009, they have been able to Give Back (TZEDAKAH) just shy of $300,000. For that Barry and his entire team are very grateful.
In 2019, Barry meet William White by happenstance. Barry's sister-in-law, an OSU graduate, had seen an article about William and his ALS diagnosis. Barry immediately thought he needed to get to know William and do what ever he could to support his ALS battle.
Barry and William hit it off and Barry invited William to come to Colorado for the 2019 DEATH RIDE Tour X as his guest and then in 2020 to Skydive in Moab.
Later William introduced Barry to Dr. Stephen Kolb who leads ALS Research Program at OSU - thus the beginning of the OHIO Challenge2ConquerALS in support of the OSU Wexner Medical Center.
One of Barry's favorite quotes is "What We Do For Ourselves Dies With Us. What We Do For Others Remains And Is Immortal" Albert Pike.
What We Do For Others ...
Always standing along side Barry for the last 41 years has been his wife, Deborah Sopinsky who serves as Senior Vice President, Customer Relationships. Deborah is the Governor and helps to keep Barry's passion for the cause and his out pouring enthusiam to a somewhat level playing field. If you have ever met Barry, you can imagine just how tough of a job this is.
Deborah is a seasoned Account Sales Representative and one of the most compassionate, heart warming individuals you could ever meet.
In 2019, at the 10th Annual DEATH RIDE Tour Charity Cycling Event in Colorado, Deborah was William White's personal chauffeur and tour guide driving with him for 3 days, 235 miles through the beautiful San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado.
Later in 2019, Barry found out about another ALS Warrior, Bob Amann. Barry and Bob went to High School together and were teammates on the Kenmore West Varsity Football Team. They hadn't seen each other or talked for over 50 years. Once again Barry wanted to Do Something For Others so SkyDive2ConquerALS became part of the Challenge2ConquerALS - Triple Crown - StairClimb, Cycle & Skydive.
Barry and Deborah's very talented son serves as the Vice President, Creative Marketing. A seasoned profeesional, having started his career with Mattel Toys as a Designer of Super Heros and now holds the position of Design Director at Moose Toys living in Melbourne, Australia.
